Advertising Standards Authority ruling raps Dell over online incentives

Dell Computer has been rapped by the Advertising Standards Authority when the ASA found that an `online-only` special deal could also be had over the telephone. The Dixons Group had complained that despite national press adverts saying that customers could get a ?50 reduction on a Dimension 2400 Home System or a 'Free Hard Drive Upgrade` if they ordered online, they could in fact also get the special deal over the telephone.
