UK firms warned of e-business dangers

US IT consultancy AMS (American Management Systems) has warned that 75 per cent of European businesses are not setting appropriate targets for their e-business models. A survey of 131 large European corporations, conducted by research firm Ipsos-RSL, found that half had not even planned a strategy for their e-business investments, and more than 80 per cent viewed their projects as failures. Mass virus outbreaks return

Over the last two months, Virus attacks have increased twenty-fold, according to new research. Email security firm Postini is the company behind the study. It found that two worldwide email virus attacks that occurred over the New Year and again a couple of weeks later were so big that they increased the level of viruses circulating the Internet by a factor of 20 over normal activity. ...more

BT signs C4 to Net TV offering

BT has signed up Channel 4 to its TV service, BT Vision. After the December launch of the set-top-box-based service, the likes of Shameless, Queer As Folk, Jamie's School Dinners and Father Ted will be available on-demand from the Channel 4 archive, via Channel 4's on demand service 4oD. Samsung turns to Nokia for mobile software

Samsung signs licensing deal with Nokia for smartphone software. The platform will enable mobile phone users to connect to the Net, send emails and play games.
