AMD announces three new Opterons

AMD has announced three new versions of its 64-bit Opteron family aimed at the mid-range server market to be known as the 150, 250 and 850. The AMD Opteron processor Model 250 is priced at $851 in 1,000-unit quantities; the AMD Opteron processor Model 850 will be priced at $1,514 in 1,000-unit quantities; and the AMD Opteron processor Model 150 will be priced at $637 in 1,000-unit quantities. UK firm prints TFT panels with inkjet

A UK company has successfully printed a 14in colour display using specialised inkjet printing technology. Cambridge Display Technology used a 128 nozzle printer to produce the active matrix flat panel on an amorphous silicon backplane. May's Microsoft Security Bulletin notifies only one new vulnerability

The May Microsoft Security bulletin contains only one new alert and updates on old ones. The new vulnerability, deemed 'important' on the severity meter, relates to the way versions of Windows XP and Windows Server handle the validation of the Help and Support Center URL.
