AMD extends the Opteron server range

AMD has announced two new additions to the Opteron family of 64-bit server processors: the Opteron Model 846 and the Model 146. The 846 is for heavy-duty eight- or four-way server systems, such as those handling large-scale databases and mission-critical enterprise applications. Micron to offer 2Gbit NAND flash by year-end

Micron Technology today announced that it will begin offering 90nm, 2Gbit NAND flash chips by the end of this year. The new product will target memory cards, USB devices and other mass storage applications. Greedy Microsoft snubs AOL TIme Warner

Talks between Microsoft and AOL TIme Warner over the inclusion of AOL software with Windows XP broke down over the weekend, resulting in an AOL-free XP. The negotiations ended on Saturday because of a dispute over AOL's inclusion of RealNetwork's RealPlayer software, according to an AOL spokesperson.
