Nokia shows off new phones at CeBIT 2001

Mobile phone company Nokia has unveiled four new phones at CeBIT 2001 in Germany, two of them being GPRS compatible. The 3330 features WAP-based browsing and downloadable games and it is an upgrade of the popular 3310. The two GPRS phones on show are the ultra-slim 6310, which also features a built-in wireless Bluetooth model, and the 8310 with its in-built FM radio. ...more

Forecaster predicts 35 per cent broadband coverage by 2008

Forrester Research predicts that broadband coverage in the UK will have extended to 9.5 million households, 35 per cent, by 2008. While the UK's current two million broadband subscriber are currently divided half-and-half between ADSL and cable, Forester predicts that ADSL will be the dominant platform, not least because BT and other ADSL network providers 'benefit from superior financial positions, scale, scope and brand strength'. ...more
