Dell guns for small business market with new laser printers

Dell today unveiled four new printers as it stated that aims to become the leading supplier worldwide. The company set out its strategy at its annual EMEA Product Showcase in Cannes, France. BT and HP join hands to compete in IT services markets

Sony to replace XCP-protected CDs

Sony is replacing its XCP-protected CDs after mounting pressure from all sides. The company had already said it would halt production of CDs using the controversial copy-protection software which has proven both a security nightmare for purchasers and a public relations disaster for the company. It said: 'We share the concerns of consumers regarding discs with XCP content-protected software, and, for this reason, we are instituting a consumer exchange program and removing all unsold CDs with this software from retail outlets. ...more

Kodak has demonstrated its mc3 player at Demo 2001, which offers MP3, digital stills and movies from one pocket-sized device. Retailing for $299, the player boasts 64Mb of memory and handy USB connectivity. A cheaper 16Mb version will also be available. ...more
