Home Office launches safe computing site

The UK government has launched a website warning of the latest IT security threats and offering advice for safe computing. The IT Security Awareness for Everyone (ITsafe) website was set up by the Home Office using information provided by the National Infrastructure Security Co-ordination Centre (NISCC) - the Government's centre for electronic defence. ADSL provider Bulldog has launched a self-install WiFi networking kit designed for homes and small businesses that want to share a broadband connection. The kit comprises a D-Link DSL-604+ wireless router, D-Link DWL-650+ wireless PCMCIA card or D-Link DWL-120 wireless USB adapter, and two D-Link 20MF microfilters. The wireless router is a combined ADSL modem, IP router, 4-port 10/100 Mbit/sec Ethernet switch and wireless access point, allowing both fixed and wireless network configurations. ...more

Microsoft and non-settling states sum up four years in court

Microsoft and the nine non-settling states have filed 500+ page documents that spell out their respective cases and proposed solutions at the end of two months of witness testimonies - bringing the four-year-old antitrust case to the final stages of its run. The documents will be considered by US District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly, who will hear the closing arguments of both sides on 19 June and will then open her own remedy based on these and the findings of last year's appeals court ruling.
