Australian legislators call for Internet censorship

Australian legislators have called for all Internet content to be filtered by ISPs before it is relayed to their customers. Sixty-two members of the ruling coalition have signed a letter calling for a restriction on pornographic, violent and other 'inappropriate' material. Google brings in $806 million revenues in first quarterly earnings

In its first ever results as a public company, Google has announced that its revenues have doubled to $805.9 million for the quarter, a rise of 105 per cent on the same period a year ago. Despite the jump in revenue, actual income was only to $52 million from 2003's equivalent $20 million due to a previously announced one off payment to Yahoo! of $201 million to settle various patent disputes. ...more

Vodafone announces mobile Web access for Macs

Vodafone is the first UK mobile company to announce Mac support for its 3G/GPRS service that enables laptop users to remotely connect to the Internet. Vodafone Mobile Coonect uses a PCMCIA card - compatible with the 15in and 17in PowerBooks - to provide a 384Kbps connection at a variety of tariffs. BBC preps Bluetooth broadcast

Radio 1 will make the BBC's first Bluetooth broadcast on Sunday, at the Chart Show Live event in London's Shepherd's Bush. The audience will be able to download interviews, pictures, backstage footage and exclusive video content to their mobile phones.
