Toshiba announces portable charger for mobile devices

Toshiba is unveiling a new fuel cell that charges mobile devices, such as phones and PDAs, without needing a mains electricity supply. The Direct Methanol Fuel Cell (DMFC) For Power On The Move builds on technology that Toshiba has already developed for charging laptops, but has reduced the size of some components to make it more suitable for use with handheld devices.
