It looks likely that the 5GB iPod, which hasn't been available since before Christmas, will not return. The short notice on the UK Apple Store continues to state that, 'Due to significant holiday demand, the 5GB iPod is temporarily unavailable.' IDF, Spring 2005: Intel pushes fully-buffered memory for PCI Express

Intel has introduced a product development kit (PDK) to speed the adoption of FB-DIMM (Fully-Buffered Dual In-Line Memory Module) technology, and also announced a labs testing program to help hardware vendors developing enterprise products test against this memory standard. In the new platform-centric world of Intel, the relevant platform for this technology is 'Bensley', the codename for Intel's first multi-core server architecture. PeopleSoft certifies Safari for browser access to business apps

Business software company PeopleSoft has announced that plans to certify Safari for use with its online EnterprisOne applications, having already certified Apple's browser with its Enterprise suite. In simple terms, this means OS X will now be on the same footing as Windows when it comes to using these applications. PeopleSoft cited several reasons for backing Safari, including its performance, SnapBack navigation, letting a user step back through a transaction with a single click rather than many, and tabbed browsing. ...more
