IFPI survey: A good year for music despite illegal downloads

A tenfold increase in digital downloads sales, strong CD sales in the US and UK and a 23 per cent rise in music DVDs helped offset the effect of illegal file sharing on music sales for 2004, according to the IFPI's annual survey. If you don't feel safe when you use your credit card to make purchases online, you will be heartened to hear that MasterCard is working in partnership with a company to produce a secure digital wallet. The credit card company announced a partnership with TrinTech Group, a company that specialises in security hardware and software solutions for banking.
